Home Simple Harmonic Motion, or SHM, is Worcester Polytechnic Institute's best (and only) all-male a cappella group. Founded in 1982 under the name Baker's Dozen, SHM changed its name in 1994 to the more fitting (and nerdy) Simple Harmonic Motion. Despite its tech school pedigree, SHM has a long and proud history of musicality and personality. When together, the group not only makes a profound sound, but knows how to have a good time on road trips, retreats, and overnight gigs. SHM is usually found shaking its groove thing, finding something to pumpkin, eating massive quantities of snacks, or maybe even learning a new song. ![]()
SHM News and Announcements¤ SHM at BU!Saturday, April 25thAs is standard with SHM's excursions, we managed to find a computer on the BU campus that was open to the public. Here's to a good performance with BU's Aural Fixation! ¤ ACFest aftermathMonday, April 6th, 2009It's been more than a week, and SHM is finally coming down from the excitement of ACFest. We can't thank everyone who performed, attended, or helped us enough. Our CD is now officially out and will be available from this site later this week. Also, SHM has a number of gigs upcoming, so check the performances page. We aren't done yet! ¤ Vital Sines Sneak Preview!Sunday, March 15th, 2009For a long time, Change In My Life had a very happy and lonely home on our site's music player. However, now that SHM is in the final stages of our new CD Vital Sines, Change In My Life has been evicted and the opening track of our CD has taken up residence! We'd feel bad for the old song, but with the economy being like it is it was only a matter of time. Roll to Me! Enjoy! ¤ SHM in Marlborough MASaturday, February 21st, 2009SHM just wanted to thank everyone who attended our show at the Bigelow School in Marlborough this past week. Special extra thanks goes out to everyone who signed up for the a cappella workshop after the concert. We had a fantastic time singing and teaching, and we hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. Thanks again to the Arts Alliance for hiring us! Vital Sines (finally) Released! - Monday, April 6th, 2009
